ATEX (Atmosphères Explosibles) is the EU directive for equipment in potentially explosive atmospheres. FHF products with ATEX approval may be used in areas where flammable gases, vapours, mists or dusts may be present.

Most FHF devices achieve IP65 or IP67 – complete protection against dust and against water jets or temporary immersion. Versions with IP69K are also available for marine environments.
