Alongside RS-232 ports, the server supports USB 2.0 connections to one or two Cisco USB console ports. Dual Gigabit Ethernet ports allow connections to primary and secondary networks with automatic failover.

The console server supports extensive monitoring, alerts via e-mail, SMS, and SNMP traps, and automated actions for event-triggered notifications. Optional external monitoring equipment is required.
