Compact DKM Extender Units

Use these extender units with your DKM FX or DFM FXC switching system to connect user consoles and computers. These extender units allow distances of up to 140 meters over CATx, 1,000 meters over multimode, or 10 kilometers over single-mode fiber. They deliver pixel-perfect video up to 2048 x 1152 at 60 Hz with 24-bit color depth. USB HID keyboard/mouse interfaces with true USB emulation support extended functions. The units offer VGA or DVI-D inputs, while high-speed models with 2.5 Gbps bandwidth are designed for demanding video applications. Options for analog and digital audio, serial data, and USB 2.0 with 36 or 480 Mbps are available.

Thanks to their compact, space-saving design, these extenders support local monitoring via an optional splitter cable and can be rack-mounted in a 48,3 cm ( 19 inch ) enclosure (up to 4 devices in 1U) or DIN-rail mounted. Use these extenders with the DKM FX or DKM FSC KVM matrix switches to position your computers and consoles wherever you need them. Choose from single- or dual-head DVI-D video, VGA sources, as well as USB, audio, and serial data options.

Superior DVI-D Video Quality
With digital video transmission, there is no loss in image quality, providing sharp visuals as if directly connected to the workstation. Advanced video compression algorithms support 24-bit color depth for smooth gradients and resolutions up to 2048 x 1152 at 60 Hz. Interlaced video formats like 1080i are also supported. High-speed models offer double the normal video bandwidth with 2.5 Gbps for demanding graphic applications.

Distance Capabilities
The compact DKM extenders transmit signals up to 140 meters over CAT52/6/7 cables, up to 1,000 meters via 50-micron multimode fiber, or 500 meters via 62.5-micron cables. Single-mode connections offer clear images over distances up to 10 kilometers.

USB HID
The extenders come in two versions with either two or four USB HID ports for keyboards, mice, and similar HID devices. True USB emulation provides full support for feature-rich USB keyboards and mice.

Transparent USB 2.0
Compact DKM extender models with transparent USB 2.0 support allow seamless connection to any USB 2.0 device. Models like ACX1x 13-x or ACX1x-13HS-x support USB transfers up to 480 Mbps, with each port providing up to 500 mA of power.

RS232/V.24 and Audio
The models with serial and audio ports transmit these data along with the video signals. Analog audio allows the transmission of acoustic alarms or CD-quality music. With bidirectional audio support, a microphone can also be connected to send audio to the workstation. Digital audio models offer improved sound quality. Transparent RS232/V.24 transmission (6 wires) up to 19.2 Kbps allows connection of touchscreens, graphic tablets, and other serial devices.

Multiple Video Channels
DKM extenders are available in versions with one or two DVI-D channels. Dual-head models are ideal for systems with two monitors, saving both space and cost.

Analog Video Formats
In addition to DVI-D channels, VGA sources can be used, with resolutions fully scalable up to 1920 x 1200.

Local Monitoring
An optional splitter cable (ACXSPL12) provides connection to a local DVI-D display.
