The iPATH Controller is the central management appliance for building and operating an IP-based Agility KVM switching and extension network. Connecting multiple Agility extenders across a local area network (LAN), the controller enables both crosspoint switching and point-to-point extension – perfect for scalable KVM matrix setups. The iPATH system centrally manages transmitters, receivers, users, passwords, and access rights, all through a single IP infrastructure.

When used with Agility transmitters and receivers, iPATH allows multiple users to securely access multiple host computers housed in a centralized location. Through its browser-based interface, one or more administrators can manage thousands of users and virtually unlimited devices with ease.

The Agility KVM matrix system supports pixel-perfect HD video, audio, USB, and serial signals. Because it uses standard Ethernet protocols (via a managed IP switch), no proprietary switching technology is required, simplifying deployment and future scalability.

The iPATH Controller is a compact, self-contained server unit pre-loaded with all necessary software, including its own DHCP server. It's ready to deploy with just a power input and network connection. Configuration of channels, devices, and users is carried out through the intuitive iPATH browser interface.

Each “channel” functions as a virtual transmitter, allowing administrators to mix and match video, USB, and audio sources from different endpoints, or configure unique access rights per channel. Grouping (User Groups, Channel Groups, Receiver Groups) allows centralized configuration and management across large deployments. Active Directory support enables secure synchronization of user credentials and roles from an existing LDAP directory, reducing configuration time and ongoing admin workload.

System administrators can fully manage user accounts, permissions, and login procedures. Hotkey sequences can be assigned for user access, and admins can see who’s logged in and redirect sessions as needed.
