The Kabelsafe-Box from BACHMANN is a robust protective capsule for power cable connectors, specifically designed for outdoor use. Available with manufacturer number 919.371 and in red color, it provides reliable protection against foot traffic, water, and mechanical damage. The box is suitable for use on construction sites, in gardens, or in camping areas, where cable connections are often subjected to high stress. Its design allows for easy installation — the device can be buried, placed on the ground, or hung without requiring additional fastening materials.

Applications

The Kabelsafe-Box is ideal for outdoor use, where cable connections need to be protected from moisture, dirt, and mechanical stress. It is particularly suitable for construction sites, gardens, campsites, and for use with electrical appliances such as lawnmowers. It also provides safe protection for connecting Christmas and festive lighting, as it is child-safe and minimizes the risk of accidents caused by exposed connectors.

Features and Equipment in Detail

The box fully protects the connector and prevents water or dirt from entering the connection. The child-safe design prevents children from accidentally pulling on or manipulating the connector. The maximum cable diameter that fits into the box is 9 mm, covering a wide range of standard cables. The internal size is 180 mm, providing sufficient space for most connectors. The red color ensures good visibility, especially in dark or poorly lit areas.

Technology Explained Simply

The IP 44 protection rating means the box is protected against solid objects with a diameter of 1 mm or more (e.g., dust) and against splashing water from any direction. This makes it suitable for outdoor use, where it must withstand rain, splashing water, and light dirt. The box is not designed for submersion or underwater applications, but for use in dry and wet outdoor environments. Its construction ensures that the connection remains undamaged even under mechanical stress, such as from foot traffic.

Compatibility and Accessories

The Kabelsafe-Box is compatible with all common connectors, especially Schuko plugs. It is not specifically designed for certain accessories, but serves as a universal protection for cable connections. It can be used with other products, such as special sockets or extension cords, as long as the cable diameter does not exceed 9 mm.

Installation and Mounting

Installation requires no tools. The box can simply be placed on the ground, buried, or hung at a suitable location. No additional fastening materials are needed, as the box remains stable due to its shape and material strength. Installation is done directly at the connector, with the cable ends inserted into the box and the cover closed.

Operational Advantages

The Kabelsafe-Box reduces the risk of short circuits, power failures, or accidents caused by exposed connectors. The child-safe design increases safety, especially in areas with children. Its easy handling and robust construction ensure a long service life and low maintenance requirements. The box is designed for permanent outdoor use and protects the connection even with frequent use.
