Die digitale Eingangsklemme KL1408 erfasst die binären Steuersignale aus der Prozessebene und transportiert sie galvanisch getrennt zum übergeordneten Automatisierungsgerät. Die Busklemme enthält acht Kanäle, deren Signalzustand durch Leuchtdioden angezeigt wird. Sie eignet sich besonders gut für den platzsparenden Einsatz im Schaltschrank. Durch den Einsatz der 1-Leiteranschlusstechnik kann auf kleinstem Raum, mit geringem Verdrahtungsaufwand, eine mehrkanalige Sensorik angeschlossen werden. Die Powerkontakte sind durchverbunden. Bei der KL1408 ist die Bezugsmasse aller Eingänge der 0-V-Powerkontakt.
