Die Digital-I/O-Boxen der ADQ-51 Serie wurden für den Einsatz in der industriellen Automation und Steuerungstechnik konzipiert. Durch die galvanische Trennung von 500 VACeff. zwischen Feldverdrahtung und PC werden Störeinflüsse wirksam unterdrückt. Zum Schutz vor Kontaktprellen bieten diese Boxen auch die Möglichkeit, einen digitalen Filter je Eingangsport zu programmieren. Die ADQ-Boxen verfügen über 8 bit isolierte Digital-Eingänge, sowie über 8 bit isolierte Digital-Ausgänge. Die Eingänge haben eine Schmitt-Trigger-Charakteristik und sind für eine max. Eingangsspannung von 35 V ausgelegt. Jeder Ausgang kann bis zu 0,6 A treiben. Zur Erhöhung des Ausgangsstroms ist eine Parallelschaltung mehrerer Ausgänge möglich. So ist für viele Anwendungen keine externe Treiberstufe notwendig.
