What is the difference between Standby, Line-Interactive and Online UPS? Standby UPS (VFD) switches to battery on mains failure (brief transfer time, cost-effective). Line-Interactive (VI) regulates voltage fluctuations without battery operation. Online Double-Conversion (VFI) continuously supplies via inverter – zero transfer time, maximum protection for servers, medical devices and production equipment.

How do you calculate the required UPS capacity for a server room? The UPS capacity in VA is derived from the total watt consumption of all connected devices divided by the power factor (typically 0.8–0.9). Add 20–30% reserve to the result. Example: 3 servers at 400 W = 1,200 W ÷ 0.85 ≈ 1,410 VA + 25% reserve = approx. 1,800 VA UPS required.

Can AEG UPS batteries be replaced during live operation? Selected AEG UPS models (e.g. the Protect series) support hot-swap batteries – replacement without shutting down the connected load.
