On the rear panel, each module features a dedicated stereo L/R RCA output, plus an additional priority output. This output automatically gives precedence to Module 2 (right slot); when playback on Module 2 stops, the signal switches seamlessly to Module 1 – making it perfect for automatic source switching, such as for emergency messages or prioritized announcements.
In addition to audio connections, the unit includes a 75-ohm antenna input for radio modules and a stereo record-in input. The ME-1A supports both AC mains power (230 V) and a 24 V DC backup power source, ensuring reliable operation even during outages. It can be rack-mounted in a 48,3 cm ( 19 inch ) system or used as a standalone tabletop device.
