Would you like to have the option of connecting a range of PS/2 and USB servers with either a PS/2® or a USB keyboard and mouse? The new ServSwitch™ EC for PS/2 and USB servers and PS/2 or USB consoles makes everything possible. Perfect for areas where you have a mix of servers and console controllers, this ServSwitch features a slide switch on the back that allows you to select either PS/2 or USB console mode. Models are available to switch between 4, 8 or 16 servers from a single console. To expand your switching platform with additional servers - up to 136 total on the 16-port model - simply cascade the units in a master-slave configuration.
The 1U high ServSwitch EC is ideal for applications where space is limited and can be used on the desktop. As an additional space-saving feature, the switch only requires one HD15 port for each server connection. The keyboard, monitor and mouse circuits are integrated into a single connector. The ServSwitch EC for PS/2 and USB servers and PS/2 or USB consoles also features an on-screen display (OSD). ) Features for switching between servers and managing server connections. Navigate the OSD menus with a function key and use the OSD interface to view the connection status of each port, lock a server from unauthorized access, and even assign server names up to 14 characters long. The switch stores all name entries in non-volatile memory. You can also switch servers by pressing the front panel keys or using a sequence of hotkeys on your keyboard. Or let the switch do this automatically with its AutoScan feature, which allows the ServSwitch EC to scan and switch between servers at an interval you specify. When AutoScan detects keyboard or mouse activity, it pauses scanning until the activity stops and then continues to the next computer. Thanks to video enhancement technology that ensures excellent quality and resolutions up to 1920 x 1440, the ServSwitch EC is DDC2B compatible so you can use it with the latest digital monitors.
