NiMH batteries are widely used as accumulators. Their format is similar to that of small batteries. Basically the NiMH battery consists of a positive electrode made of nickel (II) hydroxide and a negative electrode. The latter is made of metal hydride. NiMH batteries are offered in different designs, all of which are orientated to the small batteries. A voltage of 1.2 volts is output per battery cell. Compared to conventional batteries a NiMH battery is rechargeable and therefore more economical in the long run. Due to its size and power they can be used in household appliances.
