The BN 20-10Z-M16 from Schmersal is a rectangular magnetic sensor with a durable aluminum housing, designed for use in safety-critical industrial applications. The sensor operates based on a magnetic principle and features a side actuation plane and active area.

With an integrated preload magnet, the BN 20-10Z-M16 offers a high repeat accuracy of 0.3 mm and a switching distance of up to 45 mm, depending on the actuator magnet used. The sensor can achieve a maximum actuation speed of 18 m/s and has a minimum mechanical lifespan of 1 billion switching cycles.

The BN 20-10Z-M16 includes a normally open (NO) switching contact. The maximum switching voltage is 250 VAC, with a maximum switching current of 3 A. The sensor is suitable for harsh environments, with an IP67 protection rating and an operating temperature range of -25 °C to +90 °C.
