The CSS 8-180-2P+D-E-L safety sensor is an inductive safety sensor designed for use in safety-critical applications. It meets high safety requirements according to EN ISO 13849-1, EN IEC 60947-5-3, and EN IEC 61508, achieving Performance Level (PL) e and Category 4. The sensor is suitable for applications up to SIL 3 with an estimated service life of 20 years.

This sensor features two safe digital outputs and an additional diagnostic output for status reporting. It also includes a multi-color LED that displays the sensor's status in green, red, and yellow. The switching distance is 8 mm, with secured switching distances of 7 mm (ON) and 10 mm (OFF).

The housing is made of glass-fiber reinforced thermoplastic, ensuring robustness and durability. The sensor is non-flush mountable and has an M18 thread. It connects via a 5-pin cable and operates at 24 VDC. With protection ratings of IP65 and IP67, it is suitable for industrial environments.
