The CSS 8-180-2P-Y-LST safety sensor is an inductive sensor specifically designed for series connections in safety-critical applications. It complies with high safety standards according to EN ISO 13849-1, EN IEC 60947-5-3, and EN IEC 61508, achieving Performance Level (PL) e and Category 4, and is suitable for applications up to SIL 3.

The sensor features a cylindrical shape (M18 thread) and is made of glass-fiber reinforced thermoplastic, making it highly robust and durable. The typical switching distance is 8 mm, with secured switching distances of 7 mm (ON) and 10 mm (OFF). Thanks to its cascading capability, up to 16 sensors can be connected in series without compromising safety.

The sensor has two safe digital outputs and an integrated multi-color LED status indicator that displays the status in green, red, and yellow. The sensor has both an M12 coupling (4-pin) input and an M12 plug (4-pin) output connection. It is rated IP65 and IP67, ensuring reliable operation in industrial environments.
