The AZ 16 ST1-AS R ASI-SAW is a compact and robust safety switch with AS-Interface integration (Safety at Work), ideal for safety-critical applications. It features a self-extinguishing, impact-resistant plastic housing made of glass-fiber reinforced thermoplastic.

The switch supports AS-i Safety Slave Version 2.1 and provides dynamic code transmission across two data channels. It also includes integrated LED status indicators to display power supply, communication errors, and release status.

Depending on the application, the safety switch achieves a Performance Level up to d and a Safety Integrity Level (SIL) up to 2. The mechanical connection is established via a 4-pin M12 plug connector located at the bottom of the switch.

With an IP67 protection rating and a mechanical lifespan of 1 million switching cycles, the switch is suitable for use in dusty and humid environments.
