The BN 32-R from Schmersal is a magnetic proximity sensor with a cuboid design, specifically developed for safety-critical applications, including elevator systems. The sensor features a side actuation plane and an active surface on the side. Thanks to its built-in latching function, the sensor can securely maintain its position, making it ideal for precise position monitoring.

The sensor is triggered by a suitable magnet and offers a variable switching distance of up to 55 mm, depending on the actuator magnet used. The BN 32-R has a mechanical lifespan of at least 1 billion switching cycles and supports a maximum actuation speed of 18 m/s.

The BN 32-R features a normally open (NO) switching element and uses reed contact technology. With an IP67 protection rating, the sensor is protected against dust and water and can operate in temperatures ranging from -25 °C to +90 °C.

Important Note: The actuator is not included in the delivery. Recommended actuators include models like BP 10, BP 20, BP 34, and many more.
