The BN 80-10Z from Schmersal is a magnetic proximity sensor with a robust housing made of glass-fiber reinforced thermoplastic. This sensor is ideal for use in safety-critical applications requiring precise and reliable position monitoring.

The sensor operates based on a magnetic principle and features a side actuation plane with an active surface on the side. It includes a normally open (NO) switching element that is triggered by a suitable magnet. The BN 80-10Z can be combined with various actuating magnets to achieve a switching distance of up to 32 mm.

With a mechanical lifespan of at least 1 billion switching cycles, the sensor is highly durable and suitable for harsh environments. The sensor has an IP67 protection rating, making it dust- and waterproof, and can operate in temperatures ranging from -25 °C to +75 °C.

The sensor comes with a 1-meter cable with a PVC sheath.
