The PLANET IPM-8221 is an IP-based Power Management Unit (IPM) equipped with 8 individually switchable outlets, designed to support ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) principles through efficient and intelligent energy management. With its 1U rack-mountable form factor and built-in remote access capabilities, it is ideal for modern IT infrastructure requiring precise control and power protection.

Integrating seamlessly with PLANET’s Universal Network Management System (UNI-NMS) and Smart Discovery Utility, the IPM-8221 provides a full overview of power and environmental conditions, making it easy to manage powered devices (PDs) remotely while maintaining a sustainable and secure infrastructure.

Smart Power Control
Each of the 8 IEC320 C13 outlets can be controlled independently via web interface, SNMP, or the on-unit LCD panel. Real-time power consumption data, current, voltage, and power factor readings give IT managers deep insight into network loads.

Overload Protection & Scheduling
The built-in 16A circuit breaker provides secure power delivery and prevents damage during overload events. Scheduled power control allows users to define on/off times and receive alerts before shutdowns.

Environmental Monitoring via Sensor
Equipped with an RJ11 port and bundled sensor, the IPM-8221 can detect ambient temperature and humidity, sending alerts if values exceed predefined thresholds—helping prevent equipment damage from adverse environmental conditions.

With dual RJ45 cascade ports, the unit can link to up to 255 additional PDUs, simplifying power deployment across server racks or distributed environments.
