PLANET FTP-80x Series – Fiber Media Converter and PoE Injector

The FTP-80x series by PLANET is a dual-function device designed to simplify network expansion in remote areas. Acting as both a media converter (fiber to copper) and an IEEE 802.3af-compliant Power over Ethernet (PoE) injector, it eliminates the need for separate devices or additional AC power infrastructure.

Dual Networking Capabilities:

• Media Conversion: Converts 100Base-FX to 10/100Base-TX
• PoE Injection: Supplies up to 15.4W over standard Ethernet cabling

Perfect for Remote Installations:

Ideal for locations like campuses, public spaces, and outdoor surveillance setups, FTP-80x allows power and data to be transmitted over a single Ethernet cable, reducing costs and streamlining deployment.

Extended Range via Fiber Optics:

• FTP-802: Multi-mode fiber up to 2 km
• FTP-802S15: Single-mode fiber up to 15 km
Both models maintain 100Mbps throughput over their respective ranges.


Link Fault Pass-through (LFP):

This diagnostic feature instantly alerts users to link failures by disabling the alternate port in the event of a disconnection—configurable via DIP switch.


PoE Simplifies Power Delivery:

The integrated PoE injector supplies 48V DC to IEEE 802.3af-compliant powered devices (PDs), such as IP cameras or access points, using pins 1/2(+) and 3/6(−) over a Cat. 5/5e cable.
