The camera features an I/O port with one input and one output, which can be used to integrate into existing security systems, for example, to control alarm systems or trigger signals upon specific events. The integrated DPLU (Deep Learning Processing Unit) enables video analysis processing directly on the device, referred to as “Deep Learning on the Edge.” This reduces latency and decreases the load on network and server infrastructure. Pre-installed is AXIS Object Analytics, which enables automated object detection within the image. Additionally, integrated privacy protection functions are available, including AXIS Live Privacy Shield, which enables decentralized video surveillance with privacy protection. The cybersecurity functions protect the device against unauthorized access; for example, AXIS Edge Vault secures the device ID and simplifies authorization of AXIS products within the network.

Additionally, PoE midspan devices such as the T8120 or TU8006 can be used to provide power over existing network cables. To extend night vision range, IR illuminators such as the T90D20 or white light illuminators such as the T90D25 are available, enhancing the reach of the IR illumination.

Installation and Mounting

The camera is compact and easy to install. Mounting is done using the provided mounting components, with the exact mounting method depending on the chosen holder. Power supply is via PoE, making installation possible without additional power sources. Cabling is done using a standard network cable (Cat 5e or higher), which transmits both data and power. Configuration is done via AXIS software or web interface, with integrated security functions already activated.
