The Wildix W01GSM is a compact GSM media gateway specifically designed for integration into Wildix PBX systems. It enables connection between SIP-based VoIP networks and the public GSM network, allowing telephone calls to be made over GSM connections. SIP-to-GSM telephony is the core function, with calls handled via an inserted GSM SIM card. Additionally, the gateway supports sending and receiving SMS messages, including the ability to forward SMS messages via SMS-to-Email to an email address. This functionality makes the device particularly suitable for businesses requiring a flexible and cost-efficient communication solution for mobile calls and messaging.

The gateway operates with Quadband GSM frequencies (850/900/1800/1900 MHz), ensuring global compatibility with most mobile networks. It supports various audio codecs, including ITU-T G.711 a-Law/μ-Law and G.729AB, to ensure clear voice transmission. Integrated features such as PLC (Packet Loss Concealment), VAD (Voice Activity Detection), CNG (Comfort Noise Generation), and Echo Cancellation according to ITU-T G.168/165 ensure high-quality voice transmission, even under challenging network conditions. SIM/UIM encryption enhances data transmission security. The device is powered via PoE Class 3 (Power over Ethernet), enabling power delivery through the network cable — a practical solution for installation in existing network infrastructures. Maximum power consumption is 10 W.
