Communication in building systems technology
Used in building systems technology for decentralized control of e.g. lighting, heating, air conditioning, ventilation, energy management, blinds, time recording, locking systems, etc. The cable is not approved for high-voltage installation purposes or for laying underground.
Data is transmitted serially.
The EIB installation essentially consists of sensors = command transmitters
(e.g. light barriers, switches, thermostats, infrared, anemometers, time switches) and actuators = command receivers (e.g. motors, heating, fans, lamps, blinds). The EIB bus cable can be laid on, in and under plaster, in pipes and cable ducts, in dry, damp and wet rooms.
