LISN-Mate allows the distinction between differential interference and common mode interference.
The so-called LISN-Mate TBLM1 is a passive additional device for LISNs that splits the conducted interference signal into its common mode and differential components. The LISN-Mate is connected to the HF output of the LISN in the positive supply line (LISN 1) and to the HF output of the second LISN in the negative supply line (LISN 2). The conducted interference signal at the output of the LISN is always the sum of common mode interference and differential interference signal. The LISN-Mate now splits the two interference components so that they can be measured separately at the two BNC sockets “Differential Mode” and “Common Mode”. It is important to ensure that the connecting cables between the two LISNs and the LISN-Mate are identical in length and structure and have very good HF shielding.
The TBLM1 enables efficient troubleshooting when troubleshooting EMI filters in the power supply. Once the dominant interfering component is determined, the interfering filter components can be more easily identified and specifically optimized. This saves time and costs.
