This redundant safety processor is part of the Modicon M580 range, a range of programmable logic controllers (PACs) and safety-related programmable logic controllers (PLCs) with integrated Ethernet. This product offers a maximum configuration of 16 remote racks with up to 16,384 digital I/O channels and 4,096 analog I/O channels. This safety product is coated and is compatible with a temperature range of -25°C to +60°C/-13°F to 140°F. It has 1 Ethernet port for service, 2 Ethernet ports for a ring remote I/O network (remote I/O racks only) and 1 USB mini-B port for the programming console. It has an integrated RAM memory of 16 MB for programs and 10 KB for system memory. It has an expandable flash memory of 4 GB for data storage and 16 MB for program security and 1024 KB for data security. This product is rated IP20 and offers 638,044 hours MTBF. This module meets the requirements of applications in transportation, water and wastewater, consumer packaged goods, mining, minerals, metals, power generation, energy and chemical, and data center. This product complies with CE, UL, CSA, RCM, EAC, UKCA, ATEX/IECEx Zone 2/22 and TUV/IEC61508/SIL3 standards and is certified for power generation, merchant marine, railway, and hazardous area applications. This processor is compatible with Modicon X80 and Quantum modules with RJ45 (490NAC0100) and fiber optic single-mode (490NAC0201) connections to build a redundant architecture. The CPU must be installed in the module carrier slots marked 00 and 01, using 2 screws on the top of the CPU to hold the module in the module carrier. This product can be used in combination with Modicon X80 (I/O, backplane, cables) and works with EcoStruxure Control Expert programming software.
