The BN 310-10Z from Schmersal is a magnetic proximity switch, specially designed for use in elevator applications and other safety-critical environments. With a durable housing made of glass-fiber reinforced thermoplastic, the switch offers a minimum mechanical lifespan of 1 billion switching cycles.

The switch features a side actuation area and is mounted using elongated holes, allowing for flexible installation. The BN 310-10Z is equipped with a reed contact and operates as a normally open (NO) contact. It has an IP67 protection rating, making it dust-tight and protected against temporary immersion in water.

The switch supports a maximum switching capacity of 120 W and can handle both AC voltage up to 250 VAC and DC voltage up to 250 VDC. It comes with a 1-meter cable with a wire cross-section of 0.75 mm².

The maximum switching distance is up to 50 mm, depending on the actuator magnet used. For correct operation, the switch should be mounted on a non-magnetic spacer of at least 20 mm on iron surfaces.

Important Note: The actuator is not included in the delivery. Recommended actuators include BP 10, BP 15, and BE 20.
