Further information for GVS line coupler - BNLC-00/00.1
The coupler provides a data connection between two separate KNX bus lines and also isolates the bus lines from each other to enable independent local operation of a bus line.
The coupler can be used in both existing and new KNX networks as a line coupler, backbone coupler or repeater. It has a filter table that helps to either block bus telegrams for one of the two lines or forward them to another line, reducing the bus load. The filter table is automatically created by the ETS (EIB Tool Software) when the system is commissioned.
As a line coupler, the lines are connected to the main line to create a functional zone. As a backbone coupler, it connects the functional zones to the higher-level backbone line. As a repeater, the coupler allows more than 64 bus devices to be connected to one bus line. Up to three repeaters can be connected to one bus line, so that a total of 252 bus devices (in addition to the three repeaters) can be connected to one bus line.
