DRAGINO NDS03A · Door contact sensor with humidity detection
Overview
The Dragino NDS03A is an NB-IoT open/close door sensor. It detects the open/close status of the door and connects to the IoT server via the NB-IoT network. NDS03A can connect two door sensors. The user can see the door status, opening duration and number of openings on the IoT server.
The NDS03A regularly sends data every 4 hours and every time the door is opened/closed. It also counts the door opening times and calculates the last door opening time. Users can also disable the uplink for each open/close event, instead the NDS03A can count each open event and send the uplink periodically.
NDS03A has a datalog function that records the opening/closing event, and the user can get the history of NB-IoT.
The NDS03A has an opening alarm function. The user can set this feature so that the device sends an alarm when the door has been opened for a certain time.
NDS03A is designed for outdoor use. It features a weatherproof housing and an industrial-grade battery for low to high temperature operation.

NDS03A supports various uplink methods such as TCP, MQTT, UDP and CoAP for different application needs.
The NDS03A is powered by an 8500mAh Li-SOCI2 battery that is rated for long-term use of up to 5 years. (The actual battery life depends on the usage environment, update period and uplink method)
To use the NDS03A, the user needs to check whether there is NB-IoT coverage in the area and with the Nb-IoT bands that the NDS03A supports. If the local operator supports it, the user needs to purchase an NB-IoT SIM card from the operator and install it into the NDS03A to get NB-IoT network connection.
