This range includes switched media converter modules and WDM single-strand fiber modules for high-performance connections.

Switched Media Conversion and WDM Advantages
Switched media converter modules handle media, speed, and duplex conversion, enabling end devices with different speeds and duplex modes to connect. Using Layer 2 technology, frames are processed using a store-and-forward technique with address filtering. The WDM module doubles existing fiber capacity or, in new installations, halves costs by using a single fiber strand, supporting 1310 nm and 1550 nm wavelengths over the same fiber. Supports up to 40 kilometers.

Management and Monitoring
The Media Converter System II includes an SNMP agent embedded on the chassis backplane, with environmental sensors for temperature and voltage monitoring. SNMP software, iView, is included with the chassis.

Link Integrity and Auto-Crossover
LinkLoss™ and FiberAlert™ features simplify monitoring and troubleshooting fiber links. LinkLoss mimics a physical connection, dropping the copper link when fiber link loss occurs (FX LinkLoss and TX LinkLoss). FiberAlert monitors the fiber link and halts transmission if signal loss occurs, informing the remote side. With LinkLoss and FiberAlert, the management system keeps you updated on connection status and fault location, reducing downtime and simplifying troubleshooting.
