The BlackBox AVSP-DVI1X8 is a DVI-D splitter with integrated audio transmission system and HDCP support, designed for simultaneous distribution of an HD video signal and a stereo audio signal to up to eight display devices. The device enables exact duplication of the video signal without attenuation or distortion, ensuring clear and undistorted image reproduction. The splitter features a single-link DVI-D input and eight DVI-D outputs, each supplemented by a 3.5 mm stereo audio input and eight 3.5 mm stereo audio outputs. Signals are distributed to the outputs without quality loss. The LED indicators signal power supply and signal activity at individual outputs, allowing visual monitoring of operation. In case of loss of input signal, the device automatically switches to a power-saving mode to minimize power consumption.

The maximum resolution is 1080p (1920 x 1080), UXGA (1600 x 1200), and WUXGA (1920 x 1200), with actual resolution depending on the quality and length of the DVI cables used and the AV devices. Power supply is via an external power adapter with an input range of 100–240 VAC, 50–60 Hz, and delivers an output of 9 VDC, 0.6 A. Maximum power consumption is 10.2 W. Rack mounting is provided for the 4- and 8-port versions; for the AVSP-DVI1X8A, the 48,3 cm ( 19 inch ) rack brackets are included in the delivery scope.

Compatibility and Accessories

The splitter is designed for use with EDID-capable displays. It can also be used with HDMI-compatible devices, provided that an appropriate adapter is used for each DVI port. Cascading multiple splitters allows expansion of the number of outputs, thereby increasing the number of controllable displays.

Mounting and Installation

Installation is performed by simply connecting the source device to the input and the displays to the outputs. No additional software or interface cards are required.
