FENA-01 from the F series is an Ethernet adapter module with one port that supports various communication protocols such as: PROFINET IO, Ethernet/IP and Modbus TCP. The protocol is selected via a parameter in the frequency converter.
PROFINET
The adapter module supports PROFINET IO DP-V1 communication. With the FENA-01/-11 module, the PROFINET network can use either the PROFIdrive or the ABB Drives profile. There are also two transparent operating modes - for 16-bit and 32-bit words respectively.
Ethernet/IP
The FENA Ethernet adapter module acts as an Ethernet/IP server and supports the ODVA AC/DC Drive, ABB Drives and Transparent profiles. The adapter module supports both explicit messaging, in which each attribute of a class is set individually, and implicit messaging with input and output instances.
Modbus TCP
The adapter module acts as a Modbus/TCP server and supports the ABB Drives and Transparent profiles. Common single and multiple register read/write function codes are supported.
