Enabling devices are used for troubleshooting, programming and checking when no other safety devices are possible or suitable. The enabling device is hand-held and the operator can either press the enabling button harder or release it completely in a panic situation to stop the machine. An enabling device is a hand-operated start and stop switch that initiates operation and maintains it as long as it is operated.
