The UA30-30-10RA 3-pole contactors for capacitor switching can be used in systems where the peak current is much higher than 100 times the rated effective current. The contactors are supplied complete with their damping resistors and must be used without additional inductors. Their electrical life is 250,000 operations at Ue < 500 V and 100,000 operations at 500 V = Ue = 690 V. The UA..RA contactors are equipped with a special front block that ensures the serial insertion of three damping resistors in the circuit to limit the current peak when the capacitor bank is excited. Their connection also ensures the pre-charging of the capacitors in order to limit the second current peak when the main poles are switched on. The use of resistors makes it possible to dampen the highest current peak of the capacitor when switched on, regardless of its magnitude. The 3-pole contactors of the UA...RA series are designed in block construction.
