The S2HC safety two-hand control relay is a compact and universal device designed for two-hand control circuits. It complies with EN 574/EN ISO 13851, Type III C, and is ideal for use in safety circuits according to EN 60204-1. Developed for applications such as presses, punching machines, and bending tools, the S2HC provides maximum safety up to Category 4 and PL e according to EN ISO 13849-1 and SILCL 3 per EN 62061. Despite its compact size, it ensures the highest operational safety through internal fault monitoring.

Functionality:

• Operating mode:
- The device becomes operational after applying power to A1 and A2 and ensuring the feedback circuit (X1 and X2) is closed.
- Both two-hand buttons (T1 and T2) must be pressed simultaneously within 0.5 seconds to switch the output relays to the active state.

• Safety measures:
- The output relays remain in a safe state if:
- Only one button is pressed.
- The time between button presses exceeds 0.5 seconds.
- The feedback circuit is open (e.g., due to errors in external contactors).
- A device fault (short circuit, wire break) occurs.
- Releasing one or both buttons immediately returns the output relays to the safe state.
- Both buttons must be released, and the feedback circuit closed, to initiate a new work cycle.


Mounting and Installation:

• Protection:
- Suitable for installation in control cabinets with at least IP54 protection according to EN 60204-1

• Mounting:
- Mounts on a 35 mm DIN rail according to EN 60715 TH35

• Spacing and cooling:
- Maintain at least 10 mm spacing from adjacent devices for AC 115 V / 230 V versions
- Ensure adequate heat dissipation within the control cabinet
- Optional spacers by ZANDER AACHEN available
