The SR4C safety relay combines immediate and delayed safety contacts in a compact housing. It is designed to safely and quickly shut down hazardous machine parts in emergencies while allowing other circuits to remain powered for up to 30 seconds to, for example, return tools to their home position or slow down subsequent components. The device meets the highest safety standards up to PL e, SIL 3, and Category 4 according to EN ISO 13849-1 and EN IEC 62061.

Functionality:

• Immediate shutdown:
- The immediate contacts ensure the prompt shutdown of moving parts upon activation of the emergency stop button.

• Delayed shutdown:
- The delayed contacts activate simultaneously with the immediate contacts but remain powered for the set delay time after the emergency stop is triggered. After the delay, the delayed contacts shut down to allow tasks like returning tools to their home position. During the delay, the supply voltage must remain connected.

• Error detection:
- All errors are detected through cyclical self-monitoring, ensuring safe operation and recognition of faults during the next on/off cycle.


Mounting and Installation:

• Protection:
- Suitable for installation in control cabinets with at least IP54 protection in accordance with EN 60204-1

• Mounting:
- Mounts on a 35 mm DIN rail according to EN 60715

• Spacing and cooling:
- Maintain minimum spacing from adjacent devices as per total current consideration (see technical data)
- Ensure adequate heat dissipation within the control cabinet
- Optional spacer (Part No. 472596 by ZANDER AACHEN) available


Safety Instructions:
