The SREC safety extension module enables the addition of up to three additional safety contact paths per device when used with a base device from the ZANDER SR series. This modular system provides flexible expansion for existing safety circuits and is suitable for applications up to Category 4, PL e, and SIL 3. The SREC is controlled via a safety contact from the base device, which also manages fault monitoring. Independent operation without a base device is not possible.

Functionality:

• Activation:
- The SREC is activated via a safety contact from the base device, which supplies control voltage (DC 24V) to terminals S15 and S16.
- Starting the base device also activates the SREC.

• Safety function:
- When a safety switch is triggered, the base device interrupts the control voltage, causing the SREC safety contacts to immediately open and safely disconnect the circuit.

• Fault detection:
- Faults in the SREC are detected and reported to the base device via terminals S23 and S24.


Mounting and Installation:

• Protection:
- Must be installed in control cabinets with at least IP54 protection in accordance with EN 60204-1

• Mounting:
- Mounts on a 35 mm DIN rail according to EN 60715 TH35

• Spacing and cooling:
- Maintain at least 10 mm distance from adjacent devices for AC 115 V / 230 V variants
- Ensure adequate heat dissipation within the control cabinet
- Optional spacer (Part No. 472596 by ZANDER AACHEN) available


Safety Instructions:

• Independent operation of the SREC without a base device is not possible.
• Installation and commissioning must only be performed by qualified personnel.
• Adherence to all relevant standards and regulations is required.
