The SMI master provides a uniform interface to SMI-compliant electric drives.
The SMI master enables the operation of up to 16 SMI drives. The use of several SMI masters in one node is possible.
Communication between applications and SMI drives takes place via special IEC function blocks. These blocks enable individual addressing, group addressing and status queries.
The SMI function blocks can be used with programmable fieldbus controllers from the 750 series.
