The CX2182 is used as a profile cylinder with an electronic, freely rotating knob on both sides. The release takes place on both sides through electronic authorization. The evaluation electronics and the mechatronics are located together with the batteries in the electronics knob on the protected inside. The small outer knob only contains reading electronics including an antenna with optical and acoustic signaling, but no power supply or coupling mechanism.
By installing the CX2182 using a Euro profile cylinder, conventional locks for DIN Euro profile can be used and no complex assembly is necessary. This means that the double knob cylinder can be used cost-effectively for both new buildings and existing properties.

The CX2182 is especially suitable for tubular frame doors, because it has a small knob (44 x 31 mm) on one side, leaving enough room to open the door even with small backsets. Because the cylinder is available with electronic authorization on both sides, the small knob can always be used on the side of the frame door that is not suitable for large knobs, but the increased mechanical security against break-in only exists on the attack side (small knob). Since there is only one antenna in the small knob, this product is particularly suitable for use on building doors.
