The Triton RCA-12-A61-CAX-A1 is a 48,3 cm ( 19 inch ) floor-standing enclosure with a height of 12 U, specifically designed for installation under a desk to consolidate the infrastructure of an office network. The housing is made of multi-folded 1.5 mm steel sheet and features a robust welded construction, ensuring high structural stability. The front door is designed as a glass door, consisting of 4 mm thick safety glass with bronze tinting, and is secured via a single-point locking system with a security lock. The door opens up to nearly 180° due to the hinge system and can be easily removed. The rear panel is made of solid sheet metal and equipped with two security locks, with the rear door also secured via a security lock. The enclosure is available in Grey (RAL 7035) and has an external height of 620 mm, a width of 600 mm, and a depth of 1000 mm. The door height is 515 mm, and the door width is 490 mm. The recommended maximum load is 200 kg, with the permissible load per individual door being a maximum of 10 kg.
Applications
The enclosure is intended for the installation of data and telecommunication systems as well as their distribution systems under a desk. It is particularly suitable for office and administrative environments where a compact, mobile, and secure housing for network infrastructure is required. The construction allows for flexible use in rooms with limited space, as the enclosure is mounted on castors, two of which are equipped with brakes.
Functions and Equipment in Detail
The enclosure features depth-adjustable profile rails mounted in two mounting planes. For versions with a depth of 900 mm and 1000 mm, the rail system is supplemented by an additional central pair. Cable entry is provided through multiple openings located in the lower and rear part of the rear panel as well as in the base. These openings are fitted with removable blanking plates, enabling flexible and neat cable routing. The delivery includes two keys and the castor set. The rear panel is easily removable, facilitating access to rear components.
Technology Explained Simply
The enclosure construction is a compact welded structure, ensuring high manufacturing quality and stable mounting of installed devices. The safety glass front door provides clear visibility of installed components, while the security locking system ensures protected access. The protection class IP30 protects against solid foreign objects with a diameter of at least 2.5 mm and against splashing water, making the enclosure suitable for indoor use. Passive ventilation is achieved through ventilation slots at the top and bottom of the enclosure, ensuring sufficient air circulation for cooling the devices.
Compatibility and Accessories
The enclosure is designed for mounting 48,3 cm ( 19 inch ) components and offers a mounting depth of up to 840 mm. The rear panel is prepared for mounting an additional ventilation unit, such as a fan unit with 2 or 3 fans, to support cooling of installed devices. Compatible accessories include, among others, brush strips for cable entry, PDU models with various output capacities, earthing rails, Keystone module carriers for patch panels, and intermediate shelves in various lengths. The installation of additional components is carried out via the existing rack rails and designated mounting points.
Installation and Mounting
Installation is performed on the castors included in the delivery, two of which are equipped with brakes to fix the enclosure when needed. The vertical rack rails are continuously adjustable, allowing the mounting height of devices to be individually adjusted. Devices are mounted using the designated mounting points on the rack rails. Earthing is achieved via the earthing cable connected to the M8 screw in the base of the enclosure. Cable connections are made through the removable blanking plates at the designated openings.
Operational Advantages
The enclosure provides a mobile and flexible solution for housing network and data distribution components under a desk. The robust construction and high load capacity of up to 200 kg ensure secure mounting even for heavy devices. The glass door allows visual monitoring of installed components, while the security locking system ensures protected access. Passive ventilation and the option to mount additional fan units ensure efficient cooling of devices. Cable entry through multiple openings with removable blanking plates enables neat and flexible cable routing. Mounting on castors increases mobility and simplifies positioning the enclosure at various locations in the office.
