The Control Unit CU250S-2 is part of the modular frequency converter SINAMICS G120 (consisting of power section, control unit, operator panel). The control unit is suitable for individual drives with higher requirements for speed control. Extended safety functions and a large I/O framework allow for extensive applications. With vector control, two encoders (position and speed) can be connected. This extension enables use in lifting/swivelling/travel or rotary applications. The CU250S-2 control unit controls and monitors the power module and the connected motor in several selectable control types. It enables communication with a local or central controller and monitoring devices and is used to connect all process-relevant auxiliary units and external components such as sensors, valves, contactors, etc. The extensive I/O interfaces, the fieldbus interfaces and the additional software functions optimally support the application in general mechanical engineering. The CU250S-2 has the integrated safety functions Safe Torque Off (STO), Safe Stop 1 (SS1) and Safe Brake Control (SBC) as standard. In addition, the integrated safety functions Safely Limited Speed (SLS), Safe Speed Monitor (SSM) and Safe Direction (SDI) can be activated with the safety license. The following integrated communication variants are available: CU250S-2 with the protocols USS, Modbus RTU, CU250S-2 DP PROFIBUS as well as CU250S-2 PN PROFINET, EtherNet/IP and CU250S-2 CANopen.
