With the Modicon modular safety controller XPSMCM, safety applications can be easily configured and the system can be flexibly expanded with modules according to the application. This version 1 central processing unit (CPU) is the basic module that is required for every safety system on machines and systems. The processing of the configured safety application takes place in the CPU. There are 8 safe digital inputs, 2 safe OSSD output pairs and 2 status outputs available. Up to 14 expansion modules enable the connection of up to 128 safe inputs and 16 safe output pairs, 32 signal outputs and speed recordings. Diagnostic communication with the connected PLC is possible via an optional fieldbus extension. A memory card with the saved configuration can optionally be inserted on the back of the module. The achievable safety level is PL e in category 4 or SIL 3. LED displays provide status messages for the system and for each input and output. The configuration is carried out by the user using the free SoSafe Configurable software via a USB connection from the PC. Expansion modules can be connected directly using the included backplane bus connector. This CPU order number is therefore particularly suitable for larger applications in which expansions are planned. The supply voltage is 24 VDC. The module has removable screw terminals and has a width of 22.5 mm.
