Further information for Schneider Electric IMD-IM20 - Schneider VIGILOhm insulation monitor
This device belongs to the Vigilohm range, designed to monitor unearthed power supplies (IT systems) in accordance with installation and product standards. According to the standards, it is recommended to equip your systems with insulation monitoring devices (IMD). This device is designed to monitor medium-sized AC, DC and ACDC systems with limited disturbances. It measures the network insulation resistance by injecting a low-frequency alternating current between the network and earth. The configuration depends on the installation. The settings are made on the front of the device via the HMI screen. Alarm thresholds can be set from 0.5 kilohms to 500 kilohms and alarm delays from 0 to 7200 seconds. It monitors networks up to 600VAC when connected to the neutral, 480V when connected to the line and 345VDC, with up to 70 microfarads. The black and white screen displays insulation resistance from 100 ohms to 10 megohms, capacitance and temporary faults. Autotest starts automatically every 5 hours and when required. If the system insulation resistance falls below the set threshold, i.e. there is a ground fault, an alarm is triggered via the IMD output relay. Once no more faults are detected, the alarm is cleared and the alarm relay returns to normal. The unit can be powered from a 110VAC to 415VAC source or a 125VDC to 250VDC source, all with a tolerance of plus or minus 15%. This product can be DIN rail or flush mounted and also has a lockout input. Front protection rating is IP52, rear IP20 and overvoltage category III. The monitor is equipped with an RS485 communication interface with Modbus protocol.
