This redundant safety processor is part of the Modicon M580 range, a range of programmable logic controllers (PACs) and safety-related programmable logic controllers (PLCs) with integrated Ethernet. This product offers a maximum of 31 remote rack configurations with up to 31,744 digital I/O channels and 7,936 analog I/O channels. This safety product is coated and is compatible with a temperature range of -25°C to +60°C/-13°F to 140°F. It has 1 Ethernet port for service, 2 Ethernet ports for a ring remote I/O network (remote I/O racks only) and 1 USB mini-B port for the programming console. It has an onboard RAM of 64MB for program, 10KB for system memory, expandable flash memory of 4GB for data storage and 16MB for program security and 1024KB for data security. This product is rated IP20 and offers an MTBF of 633,244 hours. This module meets the requirements of applications in transportation, water and wastewater, consumer packaged goods, mining, minerals, metals, power generation, energy and chemicals, and data centers. This product conforms to CE, UL, CSA, RCM, EAC, UKCA, ATEX/IECEx Zone 2/22 and TUV/IEC61508/SIL3 standards and is certified for power generation, merchant marine, railway, and hazardous area applications. This processor is compatible with Modicon X80 and Quantum modules with RJ45 (490NAC0100) and fiber optic single-mode (490NAC0201) connections to create a redundant architecture. The CPU must be installed in the module carrier slots marked 00 and 01, with 2 screws on the top of the CPU to hold the module in the module carrier. This product can be used in combination with Modicon X80 (I/O, backplane, cables) and works with EcoStruxure Control Expert programming software.
