This redundant safety processor is part of the Modicon M580 range, a range of programmable logic controllers (PACs) and safety-related programmable logic controllers (PLCs) with integrated Ethernet. This product offers a maximum configuration of 8 remote racks with up to 8,192 digital I/O channels and 2,048 analog I/O channels. This safety product is coated and is compatible with a temperature range of -25°C to +60°C/-13°F to 140°F. It has 1 Ethernet port for service, 2 Ethernet ports for a ring remote I/O network (remote I/O racks only) and 1 USB mini-B port for the programming console. It has an integrated RAM of 8 MB for programs, 768 KB for data, 10 KB for system memory. It has an expandable flash memory of 4 GB for data storage, plus 2 MB for program security and 512 KB for data security. This product is IP20 rated and offers an MTBF of 638,044 hours. This module meets the requirements of applications in transportation, water and wastewater, consumer packaged goods, mining, minerals, metals, power generation, energy and chemicals, and data centers. This product complies with CE, UL, CSA, RCM, EAC, UKCA, ATEX/IECEx Zone 2/22 and TUV/IEC61508/SIL3 standards and is certified for power generation, merchant marine, railway, and hazardous area applications. RJ45 (490NAC0100) and fiber optic single-mode (490NAC0201) connectors can be used for a redundant architecture. The CPU must be installed in the module carrier slots marked 00 and 01, using 2 screws on the top of the CPU to hold the module in the module carrier. This product can be used in combination with Modicon X80 (I/O, backplane, cables) and works with EcoStruxure Control Expert programming software.
