The TCF-90 Series from Moxa includes compact RS-232-to-fiber converters designed for industrial-grade data transmission. These devices are port-powered, drawing energy from RS-232 handshake lines (TxD, RTS, DTR), or optionally powered via USB or DC supply. They transmit RS-232 signals over fiber optic cables, supporting distances up to 5 km (multimode) or 40 km (single-mode). The optical link effectively shields data from ground loops, EMI/RFI noise, and electrical surges, making it ideal for secure and interference-free communication in industrial and inter-building setups.
