The Moxa TCF-142 series offers a robust and high-performance solution for converting RS-232, RS-422, or RS-485 signals to optical signals for long-distance transmission over fiber optic cables. Whether for point-to-point links or complex ring networks, these converters extend serial communication ranges while shielding against electromagnetic interference and chemical corrosion.

Featuring automatic baudrate detection and Moxa’s ADDC technology for hardware-based RS-485 data direction control, the TCF-142 converters are designed for demanding industrial environments. They are available in wide-temperature models capable of operating from -40 to +75°C.

The TCF-142-M supports up to 5 km using multi-mode fiber, while the TCF-142-S achieves distances up to 40 km with single-mode fiber. Ring topology is supported via simple DIP switch settings, allowing total ring lengths up to 100 km.
