The NPort® 6250 is a dual-port device server that uses SSL and SSH protocols to transmit encrypted serial data over Ethernet. Models are available to connect to a 10/100BaseTX copper Ethernet or to a 100BaseTX fiber network. Single-mode and multi-mode fiber connections are supported.
Features and Benefits:
- Simple solution for connecting serial devices to a network
- Secure operating modes for Real COM, TCP server, TCP client, pair connection, terminal and reverse terminal
- All baud rates are supported with high precision.
- Network media selection: 10/100BaseTX or 100BaseFX
- Automatic RS-485 data direction control with patented Moxa ADDC®
- Port buffer for storing serial data when Ethernet is not available
- SD slot for expanding port buffer memory
No data loss If the Ethernet connection fails:
The NPort® 6250 device servers improve reliability by providing users with a secure way to transmit serial data over Ethernet and a customer-oriented hardware design. If the Ethernet connection fails, the NPort® 6250 stores all serial data in its internal 64KB port buffer. When the Ethernet connection is reestablished, the NPort® 6250 immediately transfers all data from the buffer in the received order. Users can increase the port buffer size by installing an SD card.
