The Moxa MGate EIP3170 and EIP3270 gateways are robust industrial solutions designed to bridge EtherNet/IP and DF1 protocols. With 1 or 2 serial ports, they enable seamless communication between Allen-Bradley PLCs and modern network infrastructure, all while preserving compatibility with legacy serial devices.

Supporting PCCC objects over CIP, the gateways integrate effortlessly with SCADA software such as RSLinx. They allow up to 16 concurrent EtherNet/IP client/server pairs and handle 8 DF1 clients simultaneously. A built-in serial redirector enables parallel operation of EtherNet/IP and DF1 masters, supporting redundancy. Up to four virtual COM ports can be mapped using Moxa’s Real COM driver, enabling backward compatibility for existing systems.

Integrated Ethernet cascading simplifies wiring, while DIP switches provide easy selection of termination and pull-up/down resistors. These gateways are engineered for industrial reliability with dual DC inputs, optical isolation, rugged design, and extended operating temperature models down to -40 °C.
