The Moxa MGate EIP3170 is an industrial protocol gateway that enables communication between DF1-based devices and EtherNet/IP networks. Functions and Features in Detail

The gateway features a serial interface with a DB9 connector for RS-232 and a terminal block for RS-422/485. The baud rate can be set between 1200 bps and 921.6 kbps, with configurable data bits (8), parity (none, even, odd), and stop bits (1, 2). Flow control is supported via RTS/CTS and DTR/DSR (RS-232 only). Serial forwarding and the ProCOM function, which provides virtual COM ports over the network, enhance connection flexibility. Up to eight simultaneous EtherNet/IP connections can be activated, enabling use in complex networks.

The Ethernet interface includes two RJ45 connectors with 10/100BaseT(X) and Auto MDI/MDI-X, allowing flexible cabling without switching. Integrated isolation of 1.5 kV protects against electrical interference. Installation is supported by an integrated diagnostic tool, enabling quick commissioning and fault analysis.
