The Moxa EDS-408A Series comprises a powerful line of 8-port managed Ethernet switches designed for stable and high-availability networking in industrial environments. Suitable for factory automation, power systems, intelligent transportation, and maritime applications, these switches are built to perform under tough conditions.

Each model features up to eight 10/100BaseT(X) copper ports, and – depending on the version – one to three fiber ports via SC or ST connectors in multi-mode or single-mode. Redundancy is ensured through Turbo Ring and Turbo Chain (recovery time < 20 ms with up to 250 devices), along with RSTP/STP support.

Key features include IEEE 802.1Q VLANs, port-based VLANs, GVRP, IGMP snooping, QoS, RMON, bandwidth management, and port mirroring for comprehensive network control. Management can be performed via web interface, CLI, Telnet, serial console, Windows utility, or the optional ABC-01 configuration module.

Models with PROFINET or EtherNet/IP support are pre-configured for easy integration into modern PLC systems, complete with EDS files, AOIs, and GSDML/STEP 7 compatibility. MXstudio is supported for visual network topology mapping and diagnostics.

The switches are enclosed in a rugged IP30-rated metal housing and operate in temperatures from -10 to 60 °C (standard) or -40 to 75 °C (T models). Certified for railway, traffic, hazardous areas, and marine use, the EDS-408A Series delivers long-term reliability in critical networks.
