The Moxa EDS-408A Series includes rugged, 8-port managed Ethernet switches designed for use in automation, energy, and transportation networks. They offer advanced redundancy via Turbo Ring and Turbo Chain with recovery times under 20 milliseconds, as well as RSTP/STP for additional resilience.

Depending on the model, up to eight 10/100BaseT(X) copper ports and up to three 100BaseFX fiber ports (SC or ST, multi-/single-mode) are available. EIP and PN models come preconfigured for EtherNet/IP and PROFINET integration. Additional features include IGMP Snooping, IEEE 802.1Q VLANs, QoS, RMON, bandwidth management, and port mirroring for efficient traffic handling and diagnostics.

Management is possible through web browser, CLI, Telnet, serial console, Windows utility, or the optional ABC-01 module. The switches also support MXstudio for graphical network visualization.

All units feature a robust IP30-rated metal housing and support operating temperatures from -10 to 60 °C (standard) or -40 to 75 °C (T models). The EDS-408A Series holds certifications for railway, traffic, industrial, and marine applications.
